His crown may be dented
His castle walls cracked
His throne faded and empty
And his kingdom forgotten.
Yet I still love him.
Still want his shattered heart
With his broken soul
Forever will I cherish him.
His treasury full of cobwebs,
Fireplaces dead and cold,
Tapestries dull and tattered,
With chandeliers hanging dim.
Yet I still love him.
I want his tired hand,
His lost eyes on me.
Forever will I cherish him.

Sitting there prone
A window sill alone
In the sunlight shone
My flightless friends
Glittering bright white
A flutter at the sight
Of my ending flight
By the fallen friends.
Hopping through paper wings
Examine each fluttering
Waiting for on that sings
Among my silent friends.
I take the one I see
And chose it to be free
To come and fly with me
My flightless paper friend.
~Silveretta
This poem was written for my mother. She had a friend of hers draw her a picture of a small song bird that was picking up the wing of an oragami crane among several that were sitting in the window sile. The bird is looking towards us as if watching us and ready to fly away.

The figure stood before you,
A lone and bright flag held waiting,
One second turns into two,
The wait taking breath away.
Three, two, one, the flag now drops,
The woman stands braced and ready.
Two cars lurch from the first stop,
A race through the galaxy.
Swinging past the mining star
Over the entering line.
Go around the nebular,
Begin the speed to resign.
A final blast of new speed,
That last burst of hydraulics,
Space dust flies, you take the lead,
Cargo bay ready for your trick.
~Silveretta Fithran

That voice so long ago,
Soothing and calming woes,
A sweet voice in song,
Lulling the mind to sleep.
Gentle arms surrounding,
Held close in a warm embrace,
Rocked in the protection,
Knowing that here I’m safe.
The soft voice still needed,
When tears come yet again,
Embracing hugs still wanted,
From a loving mothers arms.
A tad late for mothers Day, but for mothers all around.

I’ve lost my smile,
Can you help me find it?
It used to greet me in the morning
But I didn’t find it in the mirror.
I know nobody borrowed it,
But asked the neighbors just in case.
I also checked the kitchen,
And couldn’t find it with the dishes.
I looked through the fireplace ashes
I got nothing there but dirty,
While looking in the couch cushions
I was sent to my room to change.
I couldn’t find the hidden smile in my room
I looked under the clothes both clean and dirty
When I checked my pockets I found only lint,
I even asked the monster under the bed.
When asked I looked on the porch
Thinking maybe it got washed in the rain
I looked twice through the mail
And found nothing but my missing letter.
I just don’t know where I put it
And I’m afraid that it has hidden.
I’ve lost my smile,
Can you help me find it?
This is supposed to be a bit funny. It is a little serious in the way that everyone loses their smile sometimes. Even when you lose it though you can always find it, sometimes it takes some help but it is there. I think this one needs a litte bit of help still, I simply haven't gotten it beautiful yet.

How clever you are
Oh devil of the Earth.
How cleverly you use your evil sway
And hide serpentine claws
Behind your charming way.
How clever your smile
Oh Satan of dark words.
How easily you bring your despair
And disguise pits of sadness
Behind the sun you play.
How clever your tempting
Oh Angel of the fallen.
How sweetly you use your anger
And fade the shadows
Beside your dark hearts say.
How clever your darkness
Oh Demon of red flame.
How slyly you chip the armor
And mask deaths evil sword
Before the lights last ray.

When beauty fades
Figures appear.
Some good, some bad,
Yet others neutral.
Some are silent
Figures of mist.
Seemingly small,
Yet devastating.
Some are loud
Solid masses.
Building in size,
Never unmoving.
Some are voices,
Whispering shadows.
Giving direction
Only some help.
They can make you
Or they can break you.
It’s in your thoughts,
It’s in your hands.

Don’t fear the night child,
For when the stars disappear
It’s only my blanket of love
Come to wrap around you.
Don’t fear the ocean child,
For even in its darkest parts
My love will still anchor you
Giving you a line to keep you alive.
Don’t fear the sky child,
For the height of the stars is nothing
And the depth of the suns light small
When compared to my love for thee.
Don’t fear the rain child,
For every beating tear drop
Is nothing more than the melody
That my heart taps for thee.
